Regional Councils

The primary purpose of these Councils is the interrelation with the regional and local Administrations, an activity which is fully endorsed and supported by the General Council before the central bodies.

The Regional Councils exercise, on an exclusive basis, the powers of resolution of appeals filed against the actions of their different colleges, although they also exercise a disciplinary power over the members of their governing boards, and even over the members of the Regional Council itself, unless otherwise stated in their Articles of Association; in any case, they will report to the General Council in connection with the issues under their jurisdiction.

When the exercise of the powers of the General Council may directly affect a specific Autonomous Community, the Regional Council shall be previously consulted.
